Key Takeaways This Year

If you missed it, you can now read 2023’s full report over here and 2024’s full report here.

It was a really exciting year for us with using our own data. We surpassed 60,000 events promoted over the year. So much data that it broke the program we usually use to analyze it.

We also talked to 30+ professional event marketers and event organizers to compare what marketing channels events are using, how AI is being used for event marketing, and how they’re feeling about competition in the events industry.

Some of the key takeaways from this report include:

  • Channel Expansion: Event promoters nearly doubled their marketing channels from 4.79 (2022) to 9.5 (2024)
  • 2025 Investment Priorities: Online paid advertising, organic social media, community engagement, email marketing, and local partnerships
  • Declining Channels: Traditional advertising and print materials seeing reduced investment
  • Social Media Mix: Instagram and Facebook dominate; promoters typically maintain 3-5 platforms
  • Highest ROI Channels: Email marketing, organic social media, and local business partnerships
  • Market Competitiveness: Significant increase in market saturation (only 12.5% see room for new events)
  • Attendance Trends: Positive growth with 53.1% reporting increased attendance in 2025
  • AI Adoption: Dramatic increase with AI non-usage dropping from 50% to 25% in one year
  • Event Title Effectiveness: Artist-only titles underperform (only 1% of top performers). Brand recognition crucial (60% of top performers feature recognizable brands).
  • Event Structure Success: Extended-run events outperform one-time occurrences. Series events build momentum and recognition over time. Interactive experiences generate more engagement than passive events.
